Toyota (Nigeria) Limited for the third year running organized the annual Dream Car Art Contest amongst Nigerian children. This aims at availing them with the opportunity to give expression to their budding creative talents with a view to showcasing them on the world.
Over one thousand children enlisted in the contest which held in Abuja and Port Harcourt centres respectively on the 9th ofFebruary while children resident in Lagos and its environs took their turn to draw their own dream cars on the 16th of February, 2013. Participation in the contest spanned primary and secondary school students cutting across three different age categories viz: Category 1: children under 10 years, Category 2: ages 10 to 12 and Category 3: ages 13 to 15.
Renowned art teachers and professionals converged in each of the centers to carefully select three winning entries from each category. From the 27 winning entries selected from the three centers, nine winning entries were finally selected using environmental friendliness, futuristic and originality as criteria. These entries will be forwarded to Japan to represent Nigeria at the global contest.
While Abdulsalam Abdulbasit led the pack in the Category 1(Under 10) , Yahaya, Hephziba, Ikpeme took the second position andBello Odunayo Adejoke came third.
In the Category 2: (Under 12) Idusogie Osarhuguemwen emerged winner as Oluyadi Ayomikun Opemipo and Iyke-Oguchukwu Glory Mercy emerged first and second runners up respectively.
In the Category 3 (Under 15), Ulasika Ifeanyi Stanley came tops while Awurumibe Michael Dubby and Igben Joseph Ifeanyi came second and third respectively.
